Justina Reilly, LMHC-D (NY), LPC (NJ), is a licensed mental health professional and the founder of Reilly Counseling Services, created to provide an accessible, trauma-informed, client-centered space for meaningful healing and growth. She has been providing clinical services since 2019 and holds the diagnostic privilege as an LMHC-D in New York.
Justina integrates evidence-based modalities—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)—to help clients navigate trauma, emotional dysregulation, and entrenched patterns shaped by past experiences. She works with children, adolescents, and adults, supporting individuals facing trauma, mental health disorders, substance use, co-occurring conditions, and major life transitions.
In addition to her clinical training, Justina is a 200-hour Certified Yoga Teacher, which allows her to incorporate mind-body approaches into treatment. She frequently utilizes somatic awareness, grounding, and breath-based practices to help clients safely reconnect with their bodies and strengthen their emotional regulation skills.
Career Background
Justina began her professional journey in 2012 as a School Counselor, supporting students in academic, social-emotional, and career development. Her early roles as a case manager for college students and immigrant communities across New York City deepened her commitment to cultural sensitivity, advocacy, and reducing systemic barriers to care.
She later expanded into community-based and prevention counseling, outpatient facilities, and residential treatment centers.
Across these roles, Justina provided substance use prevention counseling, facilitated assessments, implemented evidence-based programming, and supported youth and families in crisis.
Her outpatient clinical work further strengthened her expertise in diagnostic assessment, individual and group psychotherapy, family engagement, and interpreting diagnostic evaluations while maintaining compliance with NYS and NYC treatment standards.
Therapeutic Philosophy & Personal Journey
Justina’s approach is deeply shaped by her personal recovery from alcohol use, her experiences as a new mother, and her own healing from trauma. These lived experiences allow her to bring authenticity, empathy, and warmth to her work with clients of all ages. She is passionate about helping individuals—particularly children, adolescents, and adults—navigate trauma, addiction, and life transitions with resilience, compassion, and humor.
Life Outside the Therapy Room
Outside of her professional work, Justina enjoys time with her family, long walks, yoga practice, and caring for her beloved Rottweiler, Dakota. As a proud mom to a toddler, she finds joy in witnessing each stage of his development. Her personal life and values continue to inform her grounded, nurturing approach to therapy.
